Visiting the Farm

You-PICK; How It Works

  1. Park in the gravel lot by the barn.

  2. Walk over to the Petite Anse Farm table (located in the first stall of the barn) with your personal bucket/vase. We’ll be here to welcome you!

  3. Once you pay and sign our waiver, you will receive a farm bucket. By using our jar/bucket, it helps us “measure” the amount of flowers you cut. We will fill your personal container with water for you while you are picking.

  4. You should have your own clippers/sharp scissors, but in the event you forget, you may trade in your car keys for a pair of farm clippers. (We only have a limited amount).

  5. Grab your water bottle and head out to the field for some fun!

  6. When you’re done, return to the table to transfer your flowers and return borrowed clippers.

  7. Enjoy your beauties! Please tag us @petiteansefarm with all of the lovely photographs and pictures you take of your arrangements. We love when new people discover us because of how happy you are with your experience.

Here’s What to Bring:

  • Rubber boots/old tennis shoes. Closed-toe shoes preferred. We live in south Louisiana where the long grass grows. You never know what toad or legless critter will crawl over your feet. There is also a bit of uneven terrain, and some areas can be muddy. Better to be sure-footed than wish you had listened to our suggestions.

  • If picking flowers, bring a bucket or container (CLEAN). We will send you out into the flowers with a 2 gallon bucket or mason jar, depending on the season and availability. If it’s bucket season, after you’ve picked, you will need to transfer your beauties in order to take them home. We have water to fill up your own container, but please make sure your container is clean enough that you would drink water out of it.

  • Your own clippers or scissors. We do have extra clippers on hand, but will gladly exchange your keys for clippers as a deposit.

  • Water bottles. We often have water for sale, but it’s always better to save plastic and bring a reusable water bottle.

  • Hat/Sunscreen/BUG SPRAY. The sunflower field and patches are open to the sun. Please protect your skin. We do not use pesticides or herbicides, so you’ll encounter some sort of bug for sure.

  • Respect. You are visiting a farm on personal property. We work hard to take care of our animals and land. Please DO NOT allow children to climb fences, to chase, harass or tease our animals in any way, or purposely destroy our property. You will be asked to leave.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING:

  • Pets of any kind. If you have a service dog, please alert us ahead of time.

  • Children or adults with severe bee/wasp sting reactions (unless you have your own EpiPen). When you grow flowers, you have the most amazing pollinators! Typically the bees have no interest in us as we harvest our beauties. And though we have never been stung while harvesting, there is a chance it could happen.

You-PICK Pricing for Flowers

Flower prices will vary based on the season, event, and quantity.

FALL: We grow a limited amount of plants in the fall, primarily in the rows of our front field. It’s all based on our seed availability and time. You are able to pick sunflowers of a few different varieties, as well as other blooms and fillers that we’ve chosen to grow. You may choose an all-you-can-fill mason jar or all-you-can-fill 2 gallon bucket.

SPRING: We have a much larger planting of flowers in the spring with so many additional plants and wildflowers to fill your bucket. We grow in the rows of our front field, and fill our back pasture with large swaths of sunflowers to frolic through. You will use a Petite Anse Farm bucket or mason jar to harvest your own flowers. We have set the value based on the amount of stems they hold.

It’s a first come first serve situation, until sold out. We will update on our social media pages when we have sold out.

$30 - 2 Gallon Bucket of Flowers - (additional $5.00 for to take a bucket home)

Give yourself plenty of time. Picking a bucket of flowers takes a while! Expect to fit about 30 - 40 stems.

$20 - Mason Jar of Flowers
If you can’t stay long, but just need something quick to make you smile, this is perfect for you. Depending on the size of the stems, you can fit 10-20 blooms.
